From the chill of a cold winter to the warmth of a hot summer Fall beckons blight, while spring hinders plight black dilutes to grey and grey melts to white From heaven to hell, thunder leads to peace Fire burns away water, and water learns to rain The male need the female, the strong need the weak The rigid and tender, the young and the old In the wrong there is right, in the blind there is sight In the black there is white, plus minus equals life

Chorus: I feel your pressure rising Bring that body my way Won’t be home till next May So much sex on Friday Verse 1: Baby let’s get out, let's walk around Out out all the darkness that surrounds Our souls, cold but more than entwined All the streets are empty, everything is closed now Birds singing out from all around the world Let’s join in, give it back to mother earth, yeah Chorus V2: Like two angels, grounded from below Together or alone, taking us all the way Wherever it goes, that’s where humans long to be Not stuck inside of an electronic dream Bridge: Baby it’s so easy to get caught up in all of this madness Sometimes i wish i could fly around and help us out of this mess But man life is short, we only got one shot So let’s do the best we can, as we ride the mother’s sound machine Chorus V3: When all is said and done, just another day for love Hate keeps a-poppin' up, throw it out the window 'Cuz we can’t give up, life is just too short So let’s join in and give it back to mother earth now Chorus to fade

V1: Who’s gonna give you money when I’m gone? Who’s gonna pay for your bed and dust the flowers in your head Who’s gonna give you money when I’m gone V2: Who's gonna cook the food upon your stove? Who's gonna make you honey, sugar all your coffee Who's gonna cook the food upon your stove V3: Who’s gonna be your Jesus when I’m dead? Who’s gonna give you loving and more than a little huggin' Who’s gonna be your Jesus when I’m dead V4: Who’s gonna carve the letters on your grave? Who’s gonna sing you hymns, tell you sermons, and say my prayers Who’s gonna carve the letters on your grave V5: Who’s gonna give you money when I’m gone? Who’s gonna end your wonderin’ the way you left me sufferin’ Who’s gonna give you money when I’m gone (3x)

House Arrest 04:21
V1: Wasting away on the side of the road With the tombstone diggers and carbon holes Decaying corpses in deserted streets, Love and hope selling postcards of hate Just because you’re a rebel don’t make you a clansman, Just because you’re progressive don’t mean you ain’t racist A southern man has a heart of gold While city boys got sterile soul C: Shoot first, don’t arrest Whole world’s under house arrest Think first, don’t suggest Corruption leads but never protects V2: Children, women, babies, and men Millions homeless, lost, and dead Look at yourself, deep into your eyes You are the killer who’s murdered the stead On and on the story goes, Money buys missiles but never love Will we ever learn how to be? Living for honey instead of war Chorus V3: You got dirty undies, dirty money, dirty sex, and dirty drugs Dirty leaders, dirty pigs, dirty prisons in the skids Dirty wars and dirty whores, dirty fingers all around the globe Dirt so thick you cannot breathe, dirt sucked up all in our brains! Chorus (2x)

Chorus: Join us in remembering the angels of the dead The days and nights spent on the road are vanishing from this world Nevermore will children know the sunset or the strip So come with me and sing this tune for the angels of the dead V1: The lights go down on Broadway tonight, were they ever there? Singers come and singers go, both never to return Vivid streets never sleeped some say, till the beak of day But the sirens and temptation’s waves have locked you in their cage Chorus V2: New York City, jeepster baby, 20th century boy Twisting sister’s middle finger with benny, jet, and pop Rocking all around the clock and jamming in the park Ignorant blissfulness, what happened to that teenage dream? Chorus V3: 1, 3, 5, oh here she comes, she’s waiting for the man Platforms, leather in the sun, kissed by cobra lace Summer’s child, born to be wild, stars all in her eyes She’s got the goods, sparks the fuse, and struts it till the break of day Chorus to fade

V1: darlin' you know in these windows we meet, while between these walls we withdraw from broken lines under the canvas sheets we talk 'till we fall apart in silence we stare breathlessly, but in anger we rise again V2: through laughter we fight - we tarnish our lives, losing ourselves in rhyme birds of prey pick at these bones, naked, alone on the phone but daddy you know that l need you now, i don't even remember why V3: mama, joey died today, i saw him swingin' up there - up with the clouds I’m calling you blue, but the words won’t come through and I can’t even stand to see we scream and we shout but nothing is found but for the pains of shame V4: just one trick, a momentary kiss, a farewell 'fore we’re torn apart god's last wish, a push to the brink, like the cream on the top of pie daddy you know that l need you now, i don't even remember why (2x) Coda (2x): I thought you were there but you weren’t, maybe that’s just the magic of my mind world powers are still blowing smoke, baby that’s just the magic of a lie when you’re down you never wonder why, yes and that’s just the magic of an eye Outro (2x - w/ ad-lib): When you’re down you never wonder why, And that’s just the magic of an eye Ooh oo...

about

Here it is. "=" is the third (and likely final) in a trilogy of experimental solo albums based on mathematical symbols. While 2016's "+" was an uplifting and melody-based journey through guitar-based electronica and 2019's "-" was a minimalistic and stark journey through day-to-day life and pre - post-industrialism, While both of those albums are entirely instrumental and feature guitar, "=" heavily relies on vocals and features no guitar whatsoever - my first solo album to do so. New directions are are explored given the keyboard-heavy approach, and the influence of diverse genres like avant-pop, R&B/funk, disco, hip-hop and Southern gospel. However, the sonic themes/soundscapes from both "+" and "-" are maintained through heavy use of samples, loops, and field recordings from those previous albums.

Plus, minus equals life.
